Yet another great feature of iOS 5 is the instant camera access from the iPhone lock screen. You can now take pictures without having to unlock the iPhone or clicking on the camera app.
Here’s how to do this.
From the iOS 5 Lock Screen:
- Double-tap on the Home button, a camera icon will appear next to the unlock slider
- Tap on the Camera for immediate camera access
Once you are in the camera app, you can use the [ VOLUME UP ] button as a shutter to take pictures !!
Πλαστικά απορρίμματα μετατρέπονται σε αργό πετρέλαιο
Σε λίγα χρόνια ίσως οι πετρελαϊκές εταιρείες επιδοθούν στην αποκομιδή σκουπιδιών. Η εταιρεία Agilyx, μια νέα επιχείρηση με έδρα την Πολιτεία του Όρεγκον, υποστηρίζει ότι ανέπτυξε ένα σύστημα που μετατρέπει τα πλαστικά απορρίμματα σε αργό πετρέλαιο.
Η πρωτότυπη έκδοση αναπτύσσεται τους τελευταίους 18 μήνες, ενώ η εταιρεία ευελπιστεί ότι θα χρειαστούν ακόμα εννέα για την εμπορική εκμετάλλευση της τεχνολογίας.
Το σύστημα κόστους 5 εκατ. δολαρίων -πρόκειται για ένα σύμπλεγμα σωληνώσεων και δεξαμενών- κυριολεκτικά μαγειρεύει το πλαστικό μέσα σε αέριο και κατόπιν συμπυκνώνει τον ατμό σε μια “σούπα” υδρογονανθράκων μακράς αλυσίδας, οι οποίοι μπορούν εν συνεχεία να μετατραπούν σε πετρέλαιο κίνησης, καύσιμο αεροσκαφών ή άλλες ουσίες.
Μια μονάδα έχει την παραγωγική δυνατότητα να μετατρέψει 18 τόνους πλαστικού σε 130 βαρέλια πετρελαίου ημερησίως, ενώ αναπτύσσονται ακόμα μεγαλύτερες όπως δηλώνει στους NYTimes ο Μπομπ Σβαρτς, οικονομικός διευθυντής της εταιρείας.
Ωφελημένες από αυτή την τεχνολογία θα είναι τόσο οι εταιρείες διύλισης όσο και οι εταιρείες διαχείρισης απορριμμάτων οι οποίες θα τροφοδοτήσουν την παραγωγική αλυσίδα με την πρώτη ύλη: πλαστικά απορρίμματα.
Επενδυτές και μεγάλες εταιρείες στρέφονται ολοένα και περισσότερο προς τεχνολογίες ανακύκλωσης και “ανάκτησης” πόρων προκειμένου όχι μόνο για να εκμεταλλευτούν επικερδώς τις τεράστιες ποσότητες απορριμμάτων των κοινωνιών της κατανάλωσης αλλά και για να μη επωμιστούν τις αυξανόμενες τιμές των πρώτων υλών.
