I am two days now over the Alps at ISCHGL in Tyrol, Austria. The ski resort is excellent and the village is also very nice
There are so many lifts (over 40) and routes (over 250km) that you want two-three days to get to know all the ISCGHL SAMNAUN Resort area..There is a FUN PARK for kids and also a great snow boarder's (and skier's) paradise with lot of jumps and many tricks like a huge bottle and some U tracks. There is also a SPEED test where you can see how fast you are by runnning down a slope and at the end there is a speed meter.. My speed was 72 km/h with the ski's !! One other great thing about Ischgl is that you can ski in Austria or you can ski in Switzerland by taking the IDJOCHBAHN lift and moving to the Samnaun ski area which is over the Swiss Alps. You can also visit Samnaun village (follow ski-route 60) and buy DUTY FREE – TAX FREE souvenirs, perfumes and other. Also there are over 14 restaurants and bars at the SKI area and the place is so big that the queue is always small at the lifts even when the resort is full. Three gondolas taking you from the village of Ischgl to the ski area. The trendiest – "Silveretta bahn" can accomodate up to 24 people in one cabin!! The other two are for 4-"Pardatchgatbahn" and 6 persons- "Fimba Bahn"
Even if you are not skiing it's worth to go to the top just to enjoy the majestic view with all the mountain peaks as far as the sight goes. The bigest lift height is PALINKOPF 2865m and the peak is FLUCHTHORN 3340m
