How to hide the HardwareGrowler dock icon

Find HardwareGrowler.app in your Applications/ directory
Option-click (or right click) and "Show package contents" of HardwareGrowler.app
Edit the Info.plist file with your favorite editor
Insert the following code:
<key>LSUIElement</key> <string>1</string>
Restart HardwareGrowler.app
